Our Earth: A true survivor

We truely live on a planet that has and still is going through things that are beyond belief.

First, the comet that destroyed the dinos. That could not have been fun but somehow Mother Earth hung in there and started again. Next, came the flood, that once again destroyed all that was created ( excepted for a few 'chosen' ). Furthermore, us humans have made a mess of the only place that we have to live on.( for now ) We were put on earth to protect and to cultivate it, not to treat it like our very own trash can. Overpopulation, pollution, chemicals being released into the oceans, forest being cut down, all this is being done in the name of "progress". Come on! Let us call it for what it really is.....GREED. Plain and simple.

Now , our earth is going through another ' rough ' spot. Starting now until the wee hours of Thursday, the Earth will be passing through the Perseid comet's tail. Sure we get to see, if we are lucky, a spectacular meteor shower but what does that mean for our planet? Let's see... more dust in the atmosphere trapping more heat in adding to global warming, a wee bit more cosmic radiation which will not help the ozone, which we are fastly destroying. And let us not forget all the PARTYS that will be thrown " just because. " Come on people! We only have ONE planet to live on. Let us treat Her with the respect that She rightly deserves. After all, She provides EVERYTHING that we humans need to survive. Air, water, food, and shelter. Yes, we have to work for it but that is our own fault ( this idea is for another blog ) and you have to admit that everything we put the Earth through, She STILL provides for our needs, just like a true mother should. We are the Earth's children and it is our turn to take care of her; afterall, She is over 4.2 million years old, or so, and we need to care for her or She will stop caring for us. Think about it. Our Earth has been through ALOT and is still here. Let's take care of Her while we still have the chance. Blessed be.
